I'm Carolyn KlassenÂ
IÂ know loneliness.
The neat and tidy reason is that my many years of providing therapy give me unique insight to understand the root causes of loneliness, and how neurobiology and psychology interact to make loneliness painful and difficult. I have walked with many clients from loneliness to connection.
The real and raw reason is that I have had times of aching loneliness: the ripping grief of stillborn twins pulled me away from others, and later, the busy full life of a decade of single motherhood made meaningful relationships difficult. These experiences taught me about loneliness at a level no schooling could ever give.
Along the way, I've written books, taught at university, and given a ton of media interviews on all things connection.
